The Petroleum Geologische Kring (Petroleum Geological Circle), or PGK for short, is a subsidiary of KNGMG (Royal Netherlands Geological and Mining Society) with nearly 200 members. Our members are mainly geologists, geophysicists and petroleum engineers working in the Dutch petroleum industry or expats who are based in the Netherlands. With many student, academic and retired members our society has a wide audience with an open and friendly character and a long history.
Every 3rd Wednesday of the month a meeting is held in the KIvI building, Prinsessegracht 23 in The Hague. From 17:00 to 18:00 hrs drinks are served during the "borrel" or social hour. It is an excellent way to meet other members prior to the lecture, which starts at 18:00 hours. The lecture series covers a wide range of scientific, industrial, economical and social topics. In total there are 10 PGK meetings per year. In the months of July and August PGK there is a summer recess. The costs of membership are 15 euro/year. As a member you are welcome to bring one guest to a regular meeting. Please refer to the secretary if you would like to become a member of the PGK.
