Senior Geoscientist

Profile:

As Senior Geoscientist you will complement PanTerra’s Subsurface Exploration team, an interdisciplinary team of Geoscientists (seismic interpreters, reservoir geologists, petrophysicists and reservoir engineers) that provides acreage evaluations, field development plans and reservoir characterisation studies. Besides providing technical geological and interpretation expertise, you will be actively involved in all aspects of project management and client communication. You get the opportunity to take part in marketing and developing of PanTerra´s services and you will be involved in training of junior staff.

Requirements:

- MSc or PhD in Geoscience or other relevant discipline;
-10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including experience in seismic interpretation, basin and reservoir modelling;
- Good verbal and written English skills, Dutch language skills are an advantage;
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills.

Start Date: Immediate.

Duration: Initially 1 year, envisioned extension to permanent contract.

Your expertise

We are looking for a commencing project manager with an affinity for applied earth sciences in the

Sustainable Geo Energy research group. We are an enthusiastic, open group of 35 colleagues with

expertise in fields like geology, geophysics and risk analysis. We work on projects for (inter)national

industry and government, mainly in the field of CCS and ultra-deep geothermal energy. Our activities fall within the broader context of the Energy theme (www.tno.nl/Energie/Olie&Gas). Our projects vary from small-scale (a few man months and several national stakeholders) to complex (multidisciplinary, many man years and a large number of international stakeholders).

Your impact

You will start as project manager for small projects and also work on the intrinsic project components. We will encourage your personal development in this position to help you to achieve a position as senior project manager. You will be responsible for maintaining contact with the customer and delivering the agreed results to full customer satisfaction in line with the contracted price, resources, people, quality requirements and schedules. You will deliver proper after-sales service and (in time) help to actively acquire project continuations.

Your competences

You have a university background in the earth sciences and work experience (minimum of 3 years) as

well as the intrinsic stock to make a realistic assessment of the value of your colleagues# expertise. You are geared to achieving results and are able to motivate and inspire people in your project teams. You have excellent communicative skills in Dutch and adequate competence in English, or the willingness to acquire this. Experience as project manager and a relevant network are prerequisites.

 Senior Petroleum / Production Engineer

The Senior Petroleum / Production Engineer will work in a small, multi-discipline team supporting our 2 operated platforms, Hanze and De Ruyter.

  • provide Production Engineering advise and support to operations
  • coordinate field development strategies and plans
  • provide metering guidance and technical support
  • perform production optimisation studies
  • provide guidance and technical support for well completion strategies
  • coordinate well intervention and stimulation activities
  • trouble shooting production and well problems, including subsea, Gas Lift  and ESP  wells
  • support new development projects applying advanced, smart-well and multilateral technologies

You will ensure optimal production and reserve depletion rates are achieved in a professional, safe and environmentally acceptable manner. You will provide operating guidance for an innovative subsea development applying a tri-lateral well which drains an oil rim and is also capable of producing the gas cap.

You have about 10 years of experience, a relevant degree, broad technical/operational experience of E&P on and offshore activities and knowledge of applicable PT software, e.g. Prosper/GAP/MBAL.

Petroleum Engineer

The Petroleum Engineer position will focus on existing assets and growth opportunities.

Geophysicist

The Geophysicist will provide geophysical support to the operated and non-operated assets. This work includes supporting the Geologists to understand all aspects of seismic data and its interpretation and provide geophysical support to the appraisal, development and on-going maturation of the assets.

As part of the G&G team you will be responsible for:

  • interpretation and mapping of seismic data
  • generation of maps
  • structural frameworks
  • seismic attributes to guide static geomodel builds
  • volumetric estimates
  • risk analysis, uncertainty analysis and well planning
  • coordinate geoscience projects presentations for joint venture technical committee meetings
  • technical monitoring of peers and participating in peer review meetings

You have between 5 and 10 years experience, a relevant Geoscience degree, experience in exploration, appraisal or development Geophysics and ability to work with a variety of geophysical datasets.

SENIOR GEOLOGISTS

As a member of the Exploration Department, you will perform seismic and geological evaluations in order to identify exploration, appraisal and development drilling opportunities. You have a demonstrated ability to work with diverse geological data sets and working knowledge of associated disciplines, including geophysics, petrophysics and reservoir engineering.

This technical role offers the variety and opportunity to apply your broad expertise to in-depth prospect evaluations, development projects and field reviews.

Specific tasks

  • Provide seismic interpretation, depth conversion and geo-modelling input during identification, evaluation, planning and execution of exploration, appraisal and development wells.
  • Prepare documentation for and participate in Volume/Risk panels and Peer Reviews to support the quality and consistency of the technical work.
  • Prepare well proposals and share responsibility for safe and accurate drilling prognoses and operational drilling efficiency.
  • Integrate interpretation and geological evaluations to build geological models using Petrel.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop existing discoveries or optimize production from existing fields.
  • Present results and recommendations to management and stake-holders as required.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a university degree in Earth Sciences and an experience level of at least 10 years within the E&P industry. North Sea experience is an advantage. Strong communication skills are essential, as well as a good command of both written and verbal English.
